Graduation Party Invitations

Specialist online printing services are now in abundance and can offer invitations for events like high school graduation, college graduation, law and medical graduation.  They can also be cheaper than a local printing service, with all the specialist graphics, fonts and tailored to your own needs.

Choose the graduation invitation or announcement that matches the theme and style of your party.  There are many samples available to find what you are looking for.  Even if you are not sure of the style you want initially, examining these samples first can help you decide.  Be sure to order enough invitations and to send them out with enough time for people to RSVP.

Graduation Party Decorations

Balloons, streamers and banners, it wouldn’t be a party without them.  Still, decorating in line with the theme of the party is necessary, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add to it.  Since it is graduation, you could hang a few tasselled caps along with the school colours and mascot.

Add a personal touch, by getting hold of the yearbook photos and enlarging them.  Put up the pictures goes well if having the party for your own child or their friends who are also graduating that year.  Also, consider showing off some trophies and awards the graduate won through the years.

Graduation Party Themes

As said before, anything goes.  If your child loves to swim, why not throw a pool-party.  A lover of animals, add local pets to the invitation list and if your child has been to Hawaii or ever wants to go, put everyone in Hawaiian shirts for a luau.  Even sports fans could have their favourite team’s jerseys; including the schools own teams, hanging around the house.  The options are endless.

Graduation Party Ideas

The party is a celebration with the Graduate at the centre of the festivities.  That said; there are no rules.  The party could be anything from an intimate gathering of family in your backyard to a ballroom filled with everyone your child knows, even your local bowling alley.
No matter what you choose, remember it’s not about you, it is the Graduate.  Your child has made a great achievement and through that, the party can take on an element of the Graduate.  Mix in a little bit of their hobbies, their favourite sport or entertainment.

Graduation Party Planning

Whether from high school or college, graduation is a significant milestone in anyone’s life.  Years of work are complete, the exams have passed and a new beginning beckons.  What better excuse to have a party.

Planning the party is without any doubt the most important and most difficult part of throwing the party.  You want to do it right, you want to make your child the star but how.

First, and, decide on your budget.  Even with a small budget, you can achieve something great without lessening the quality.  All you need to do is use your imagination.  Your budget dictates the size of your guest list.  It will limit the number since you need to be able to feed them and the location for the party must be big enough.  Even if you choose to use your home, the most common choice, remember your house is only so big and you need to consider the impact on your neighbours.

Next, you have to decide on the food you serve.  As with everything else, your budget has an effect.  You can have a barbeque, order in takeout or bring in outside catering if you can afford it.  As most, if not all, of the guests will be underage, don’t have alcohol.

You need to send your invitations well in advance.  This allows people to respond in a timely fashion.  There is no need to have enough food for fifty people if only thirty are going to attend.  To save money, you can buy pre-printed invitations from your local stationary store, order professional, personalised invitations or write them yourself.

Purchase supplies and not just for decorations.  Make sure people have somewhere to sit, plates to eat from and above all, have film in the camera.  Some people may not be able to attend but would like to see what happened.  Besides, the graduate or yourself might like a photo album to remember the day.  When it comes to decoration, try to order a cake with icing that matches.
